DOB: c1955
BORN: Nirripi
COMMUNITY: Nirripi (Nyirrpi) – Northern Territory

Mary Brown is from Nirripi which is 200km West of Yuendumu; she is in her 40’s and is the second wife of renowned artist Ronnie Tjampitjinpa.  She now lives at Kintore with her artist husband. She is a talented Papunya Tula artist who has been inspired by his art works.

Mary has been painting since the late 80’s.  She depicts in her paintings the stories associated with her dreamings.  She paints Bush Tomato Dreaming for her country which is east of Lake McKay. They reflect the traditional life style as taught and past down from older generations.

Her art is a representation of the Pintupi style: repetition of forms, which are geometric, simple and bold.
