Lynette Corby Nungurrayi

Lynette Corby Nungurrayi is also known as Lynette Daniels Nungurrayi. Lynette was born on 1st July 1958 at Haasts Bluff and comes from the region of Papunya, Yamuturrngu (Mt Liebig) in the Northern Territory. She is from the Luritja language group.

Lynette Corby commenced painting around 1990 for Papunya Tula Artists and currently paints for them and Watiwayanu Artists.

She is the granddaughter of renowned Papunya Tula artist Johnny Warangkula Tjupurrula.  Lynette was chosen for the 20th Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Award Survey Exhibition.  The painting ‘Women’s Law and Culture Meeting at Mount Leibig’ is now in the Art Gallery of South Australia collection.
